Physically disabled paralyzed woman (C5 quad) seeking Personal Care Attendant for one, two or three mornings on Friday, Saturday and/or Sundays.
I need someone for Saturday mornings with possibility of Friday and/or Sunday morning as well starting at 6:30 AM for usually about 2.5 - 3 hours. Personal care generally entails range of motion, personal care, dressing and transferring out of bed. No heavy lifting required (Client 110 lbs.), I have a lift to help with transfers. Light housekeeping like kitchen cleanup is also needed.
You must be strong, healthy and use good body mechanics. Critical attributes also include morning person, positive attitude, sense of humor and reliable transportation to downtown Berkeley. Laughter first thing in the morning is always a great way to start the day. Preference given to applicants who enjoy current events politics, outdoor activities and socializing. Good English skills required. Above all, you must be responsible, punctual, clean, healthy and energetic.
Starting pay is $32 per hour. Client lives in downtown Berkeley, one block from Trader Joe's on University & Martin Luther King. References requested and resume preferred.

I am also looking for help on Monday, Tuesday and/or Wednesday nights for approximately one hour from 8:30/9 PM – 9:30/10 PM. Duties would include personal care as mentioned above helping me in bed and cleaning up the kitchen. Pay $50 per evening. I am looking for someone who can be a little flexible on exact times and days and I can be flexible with your schedule.

We are also looking for someone who would be interested in traveling around California and elsewhere. Duties could include similar attendant work as well as driving. Must have a valid state or international license. The ideal person would be upbeat, even keeled, flexible, fun, independent, healthy and love the outdoors. Person would be Attendant work would be paid as well as accommodations. We will not be camping.
