$4,593 - $5,584/Monthly

The Department of Health Services (DHS) is seeking an experienced Medical Record Clerk to join their team!

Starting salary up to $32.11/hour ($67,017/year) and a competitive total compensation package!

The Medical Record Clerk II position assists the DHS's Behavioral Health Division with the day-to-day operations of its medical records office. Responsibilities include:

Maintaining, distributing, and securing paper medical records

Applying related medical record regulations, such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) and Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 42

Processing requests from clients, internal programs, other providers, and/or subpoenas for records and disclosure of records

Answering questions related to all aspects of medical records

Assisting the public and staff with inquiries via the phone, computer, and in-person to fulfill medical record information requests

Assisting with medical record disposition, including storage location and record destruction

As the ideal candidate to join the team, you will possess a high level of attention to detail and many of the following:

Previous experience and/or training in medical records management

An understanding of basic Microsoft Office functions and programs

The ability to work well with others in a team environment

Previous experience prioritizing tasks with competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Excellent interpersonal skills with a high level of professional customer service orientation and the ability to interact with the public, external agencies, and internal customers
