Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and professional Per Diem Medical Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for a flexible, detail-oriented individual who can step in as needed to support patient care and administrative tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Prepare patients for examination and treatment
· Assist with scheduling of tests and treatments
· Order and maintain clinical and office supplies and equipment
· Maintain patient files, records and other information
· Maintain equipment for use at all times, in a clean and safe condition
· General chart preparation
· Complete appropriate documentation on all patients examined
· Report to work properly dressed according to the approved dress code
· Adhere to guidelines concerning working hours and break periods
· Maintain professional standards and procedures ensuring compliance with corporate policies and with applicable regulations
· Maintain appropriate communication and good interpersonal skills with Supervisors, staff and patients to ensure coordinated efforts and provision of high-quality service
· Manage time effectively to complete all patient treatments and related activities as assigned
· Demonstrate support to other co-workers
· Effective member of the team
· Work well with minimal supervision
· Assist in the solution of problems as directed by Supervisor
· Maintain strictest level of patient confidentiality
· Organizational skills and effective multi-tasking a must
· Strong interpersonal Skills
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Knowledge of Microsoft Office
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· Anatomy and physiology sufficient to perform medical assisting
· Medical practice and organizational policies to administer patient care
· Use and maintenance of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care
· Common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment
· Excellent people skills
· Ability to work well and effectively with others
· Own a reliable source of transportation to travel to medical location
EXPERIENCE:
Prior Orthopedic Workers Compensation experience or related field is preferred but not required
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
· Graduate of an Accredited Medical Assistant Program
