I am a published writer/photographer with a passion for social justice. I have physical, sensory, and cognitive limitations which affect all aspects of my life. My needs vary from day to day. I live with my life partner and our dare-devil cat. I seek someone who can flexibly respond to whatever is going on any given work shift.
I need help with housework, home and office organizing, shopping, vegetarian cooking, errands, personal care (no bowel or bladder programs), exercise, fix-it projects, cleaning the cat box, and more. I would also appreciate having someone patiently teach me and remind me of computer/smartphone best practices and tricks. If you can do some but not all of these and meet the requirements please do apply.
Requirements:
-Fluent English speaker
-Non-smoker
-Fragrance-free. (Nothing scented on your skin, hair, or laundry products. READ LABELS. No dryer sheets.)
-Be or become an IHSS (In-Home Support Services) provider. This means passing a criminal background check and being able to work legally in the US.
-Current COVID vaccination and boosters. If you’re not vaxxed and boosted tell me why and I will consider on a case-by-case basis.
-Valid driver’s license and a registered, insured vehicle that nobody smokes in. I reimburse for mileage at the federal level for any driving you do on my behalf. (Not your commute.)
-16 or older
-Able to do this job without exacerbating any health challenges you have
Hours are flexible and rarely include early morning or late night. I’m looking to fill 8-20 a week. I prefer to schedule week by week but if you need a set schedule I can accommodate that.
If you’re interested, make sure you meet the requirements. You do not need previous experience as a care provider. If you are a parent you likely have transferable skills.
