We have an awesome opening for weekend Front of House staff - join the team at our bustling cafe nestled within The Tech Interactive: the world class science and technology center located in the heart of downtown San Jose that welcomes over 250,000 visitors a year!
Founded in 2009, Smashing Dishes/ Tony Caters is a flourishing and highly respected off-site catering company that produces extraordinary events and exceptional food service across the Bay Area.
Proudly at the helm of the Tech Cafe since 2013, we're not just a cafe - we're a culinary adventure! In addition, we're the dedicated operators of a charming cafe located in Palo Alto.
This is a weekend position, hours are 9-5pm, Saturdays and Sundays

Core Responsibilities:
- Greet customers with a friendly, professional attitude
- Operate a variety of machines, tools, and equipment including espresso machine
- Calculate order totals, process card and cash payments
- Stock all grab n go items, salad bars, food items in a timely and efficient manner
- Maintain cleanliness of counters, work areas and overall cafe
- Organize and maintain inventory, including daily waste logs
- Complete daily cafe checklist of tasks
- Other duties as assigned

Requirements:
- Friendly and upbeat attitude is a must!
- Responsible, accountable and task-oriented
- Barista experience a plus
- Must be able to speak and understand English, bilingual in Spanish a plus
- Must be able to work continuously while standing for long periods of time
- Must be able to lift, pull and push materials/products to complete assigned job tasks
- Qualified candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of this position satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodation
