Shift Leader
Cafe Shift Leader -
Reports To: The Shift Leader will report to upper management and the owners of the company.
Job Overview:
Responsible for ensuring that the assigned shift is led thoughtfully, the duty of the shift lead is to lead a shift that balances the workload of a given shift by delegation when needed, deploying team members to where they will be most effective, while maintaining an excellent environment for our patrons to enjoy. The primary intention of this role is to ensure that all shifts in a given day are running optimally. Each shift lead will work alongside the other shift leaders to ensure leadership alignment. All shift leads will report to senior leadership to discuss objectives and then carry them out within the Cafe.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Facilitate required breaks in a timely fashion.
Help determine action items to help grow the cafe operations.
Deploy team members to where they are most needed.
Conduct inventory and place orders through various third party vendors.
Ensure that banking is done.
Communicating any and all issues as they arise.
Being the primary person held accountable for their allotted shift.
Qualifications:
Must be able to work 20+ hours per week and have flexible availability.
Highschool diploma or GED equivalent required.
Minimum one year experience in a cafe/retail environment, preferably in a leadership role.
Must be able to effectively delegate tasks to a small team when priorities are constantly shifting.
Must be able to lead others effectively in a fast paced environment.
Must love coffee, and people.
Must possess a strong desire to learn.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
Must be willing and able to take constructive criticism in order to grow in the role.
