We are looking to hire a cook to join our team!
Our cooks' duties consist of preparing dishes, cleaning, and good communication.
We will need help in both the prep kitchen and on the line. We find that good knowledge of how the components of each dish are made informs our cooks on how best to prepare our dishes on the line. You will be responsible for setting up and managing your own station whether in the prep kitchen or working at night. We are looking for someone that will work well with all of our cooks and chefs and communicate well with all of our staff. There will be daily prep and cleaning tasks that we expect of all of our cooks.
Responsibilities:
-Maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and order of your station
-Preparing food in the prep kitchen
-Executing dishes to our chefs' specifications on the line
-Communicating any problems to your managers, good communication in general
-Helping fellow cooks when able
-Maintaining a positive and professional approach with co-workers and customers
-Maintaining personal hygiene. We are an open kitchen and we like to present ourselves professionally.
Qualifications:
-Cooking experience, we prefer that you have experience in a professional kitchen, but we are willing to train beginner cooks
-Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks, a general sense of urgency
-Knowledge of best practices in the restaurant industry
-Ability to perform tasks to our chefs' expectations
Compensation:
$18/hr + share of tips if working at night
Tips are on average $17.75/hr
$20/hr for prep shifts
