This role is crucial in ensuring the production of our product and the smooth operation of our kitchen, by providing leadership and support to our small team. Job Description:

We are seeking a Production Kitchen Lead to join our team in a hands-on role producing our food product (involves chocolate handling process), packaging our product, and general production operations/support. This position is perfect for someone with basic food manufacturing experience who wants to grow with an exciting startup. Besides producing our product to the utmost standards, the Production Kitchen Lead will be responsible for ensuring that production quotas are met and maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness. This role requires a combination of culinary experience, organization and leadership skills to manage kitchen operations effectively.

Responsibilities:

- Lead and execute the full process of making and packaging the snack product, using a chocolate tempering process and following the exact outlined procedures

- Hit target production numbers per day, on a daily and weekly basis

- Manage inventory: receive, organize and take stock of incoming materials and ingredients.

- Maintain inventory records and production logs

- Package finished products according to company standards

- Perform quality checks and assist in research and development as needed

- Assist with order fulfillment and shipping preparation as needed

- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations

Qualifications:

- 1+ year of proven experience in a fast-paced kitchen or food-packaging environment

- Servsafe Certified

- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

- Reliable attendance and punctuality

- Basic math skills for measuring and counting

- Team player with positive attitude

- Excellent communication and organizational skills

- Knowledge of best practices for food safety and sanitation

- Local to the Berkeley area (or have reliable transportation) – required to come to our Berkeley facility in person at least 4 days per week

- Experience working with chocolate preferred

- Valid drivers license preferred, to drive finish product to final destination (15 minute drive)

- Physical Requirements:

- Stand and walk for a good portion of work shift

- Lift, carry, and move materials up to 50 pounds regularly

- Use hands and fingers for packaging and handling tasks

## Work Schedule

- Full-time: 40 hours per week

- Flexibility on days worked with a target of 5 days per week

- Hours are flexible

- Occasional extended hours during peak periods

## Compensation & Benefits

- Salary Range: $45,000-$70,000 based on experience
