Join our renowned culinary team at Kampai in Jackson Hole Wyoming, where we are dedicated to delivering exceptional dining experiences. Kampai has quickly become the top level sushi restaurant in the Mountain West Region through our commitment to quality, innovation, and guest satisfaction. We are currently seeking an Sushi Chef to elevate our sushi offerings and lead our sushi culinary team.

As a Sushi Chef Manager, you will be working hand in hand with Executive Chef Chris Massad during prep, pre shift and service. You will demonstrate exceptional culinary skills, creativity, and leadership to ensure the highest standards of food quality and presentation. This is an opportunity to showcase your talent and expertise in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

- Work nightly shifts in sushi bar, or kitchen sushi line positions

-Ensure consistent execution of recipes, techniques, and plating standards to deliver an exceptional dining experience for our guests.

- Maintain inventory levels, monitor food costs, and optimize kitchen operations to maximize efficiency and profitability.

- Uphold food safety and sanitation standards, ensuring compliance with health regulations and company policies.

- Collaborate with the culinary leadership team to contribute to overall menu development and culinary initiatives.

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a sushi chef in a high-volume, upscale restaurant or culinary establishment.

- Extensive knowledge of sushi preparation techniques, including knife skills, fish butchery, and sushi rice preparation.

- Strong creativity and culinary vision, with the ability to develop innovative sushi creations while respecting traditional Japanese techniques and flavors.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

- ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification preferred.
