Job Overview
We are seeking passionate and skilled Lead Line Cook and Line Cook 2 to join our culinary team at Songbird Parlour. The ideal candidates will work under the guidance of our Executive Chef, Eric Moulton, to prepare and present our locally-inspired dishes with precision and creativity.
Responsibilities
Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to restaurant recipes and standards
Maintain a clean and organized work station
Ensure food safety and sanitation practices are followed at all times
Assist in the preparation of daily specials and seasonal menu items
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service operations
Properly store and rotate food items to minimize waste
Assist with inventory counts and stock rotation
Maintain knowledge of all menu items, including ingredients and potential allergens
Adapt to varying workloads and pace during peak hours
Communicate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff
The LEAD LINE COOK POSITION will also,
Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and seasonal specials
Manage and mentor junior kitchen staff
Lead dinner service in the absence of Executive Chef and Sous Chef
Maintain strong relationships with local suppliers and farmers
Qualifications
LEAD LINE COOK
Minimum 3 years of experience in a high-end restaurant kitchen
Strong knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, and kitchen equipment
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure
Passion for local, sustainable cuisine and farm-to-table concepts
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
Creativity and willingness to experiment with new flavors and techniques
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
LINE COOK
Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a professional kitchen setting
Strong knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen equipment
Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Passion for local, sustainable cuisine and farm-to-table concepts
Schedule and Compensation
LEAD LINE COOK
Full-time position, Wednesday through Sunday
Pay rate: $26 per hour
LINE COOK 2
Full-time position, Wednesday through Sunday
Pay rate: $24 per hour
