Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a cook and a kitchen helper at our growing fast-paced neighborhood cafe serving all-American and variety of international cuisine. The chosen candidate must be flexible, fast-learning, team player, good communicator and be able to handle pressure. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, has a passion for food, and looking to grow with a business that is well-known for it's customer service, excellent food, and friendly atmosphere.
Responsibilities:
-Cook and assist in food preparation, including chopping vegetables, assembling ingredients, and following recipes accurately.
-In addition to cooking, responsibilities include opening or closing restaurants, taking orders in slow hours, cleaning, inventory management, and organizing.
-Cooking includes breakfast items such as eggs, omelets, pancakes, bacon, and sausages, lunch items like burgers and sandwiches and dinner items like pasta and rice dishes
-Ensure the kitchen area is clean and organized, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and maintaining a hygienic work environment.
-Maintain knowledge of the menu, including daily specials, ingredients, and preparation methods.
-Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient service and a positive dining experience.
-Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain health and safety standards.
Requirements: - Previous experience as a restaurant server or cook helper and food handler certificate is preferred but not required. - Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. - Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately. - Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays. - Stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects if necessary. - A positive attitude and willingness to go above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction.
