We’re looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Sous Chef to support our catering operations both in our commercial kitchen and at off-site events. The ideal candidate is clean, organized, creative, and takes pride in producing beautiful, high-quality food that reflects the standards of our brand.
Job Responsibilities:
Prepare and execute food for a wide range of catered events
Work in our commercial kitchen to support production and prep
Work on-site at events, which may include outdoor kitchens, residential kitchens, or improvised setups with no kitchen access
Ensure all dishes are professionally presented, consistent, and event-ready
Follow recipes precisely for well-known and signature items while also creating new menu items as needed
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen, including walk-in refrigerators, dry storage, and prep areas
Assist with receiving and organizing food orders and kitchen inventory
Work independently and take initiative while managing prep timelines and task lists
Support Executive Chef and culinary team in maintaining high culinary standards
Work with front-of-house staff to create and develop menus
Cover days off and vacations for Executive Chef
Ideal Candidate Qualities:
An experienced kitchen professional with strong line or sous chef background (catering or restaurant)
Highly organized, clean, and focused on food safety and sanitation
Skilled in both following recipes and developing creative new dishes
Able to replicate established menu items with precision and care
Comfortable in a variety of kitchen settings, including outdoor and residential kitchens
A strong communicator who works well on a team but is also a self-starter who can thrive with minimal supervision
Must be able to lift 75 lbs
CA Food Handlers Certificate required
