We are a small local catering company hiring on-call Event Chefs. We are looking for more than one person to fill this position as it is a part time /seasonal offering and most candidates will have another job.
You must have a valid drivers license, your own vehicle, and be able to lift 40lbs. When necessary, you will be driving our company van which includes packing out to the event and back to the kitchen. We are looking for candidates that work quickly, efficiently and must have at least 5 years of actual chef experience.
You must also have experience cooking for a large number of people (up to 200 guests) and working with and managing a team. You must have a strong managing background and be able to manage all BOH staff and guest food service to include all dietary restrictions as needed per seating chart, oversee preparation and service of meal selection per guest or coordinator . You must also be able to expedite and ensure food goes out on a timely basis, manage all aspects of the kitchen including scullery and oversee all portable and on-site kitchen set up and break down and cleaning. Desirable candidates will have open communication with the captain/wedding coordinator/venue manager at all times.
This is a part time/seasonal employment opportunity. Some weeks we will have multiple events and prep days for the events and some weeks only one event which means days off in a row. Events are often on the weekends and evenings. If you are familiar with this type of work and you are looking for part time work, this is for you!
