General Manager with Bartending Experience
B-Side, located inside the SFJAZZ Center in Hayes Valley, is looking for a hands-on General Manager with extensive bartending and bar management experience. This role is unique: it combines running a restaurant, managing the concession bars inside SFJAZZ, and assisting with execution of private events.
If you have a love for music and you’re as comfortable behind the bar as you are leading a team, this might be the perfect fit.
The Job Has Three Parts:
1. Restaurant Management (Thurs–Sun)
Oversee daily service at B-Side restaurant and bar
Lead staff in creating a consistent, welcoming guest experience
Handle scheduling, hours/break auditing, training, and staff development
The restaurant opens on SFJAZZ show days
2. Concession Bars
Manage concession bars inside SFJAZZ Center during concerts and shows
Staff scheduling, setup/breakdown, inventory, and cash handling
Ensure quick, efficient, and high-quality service in a fast-paced environment
3. Events Execution
Assist with private events and buyouts, from bar setup to staff coordination (work alongside Events Manager)
Ensure smooth operations and outstanding hospitality for groups of all sizes
What We’re Looking For
Strong bartending & cocktail program experience
Previous management/leadership experience in a restaurant / bar setting
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Someone who can balance restaurant service, concessions, and event operations without missing a beat
Hands-on leader who thrives in a busy, dynamic environment
