About Us: A Cote is a Rockridge institution with 25 years serving Mediterranean dishes inspired by California seasonality. We are known for our extensive and unique wine list, focusing on natural wine and unique European varieties. We are a cozy and intimate space that is sought out for both a casual drink at the bar and for special occasions and romantic date nights.
About You: You are an experienced server with a minimum of 5 years serving in a full service restaurant (min 1 year in fine dining). Must enjoy discussing and guiding guests in their food and wine choices. You work well with others, are able to navigate a fast paced work environment, and naturally step up to fill in the gaps when needed. Extensive food and wine knowledge is required, experience working with European wine and natural wine is a plus.
Main Responsibilities
- Welcome guests and describe style of service
- Accurately sell wine, craft cocktails, and beer to guests
- Maintain cleanliness of tables
- Maintain shared service areas throughout the restaurant
- Expedite beverages to tables throughout restaurant
- Perform fine-dining wine service
- Ensure service is exceptional, welcoming, and high integrity
- Perform opening and closing sidework efficiently
Compensation: $17-$18 per hour DOE, plus tips
Hours: Part-time, with potential to become full time. Friday and Saturday availability is a must. We are open for dinner service Tuesday-Saturday. Shifts begin between 3:30-4pm, the restaurant hours are Tues-Thurs 5-9pm, Friday and Saturday 5-10pm.
