HECO PACIFIC Manufacturing, Inc. is engineering and manufacturing company located in Union City, CA, we build overhead bridge cranes from ¼ Ton to 300 Ton capacities.

We are seeking a talented full-time Mechanical Design Engineer who is highly motivated and experienced individual. The employee will be responsible for:

Attend hand-off meeting between estimating team, engineering, purchasing and production teams.

Coordinate project requirements with customer & customer design team as required to complete the project.

Ensure each project meets with the project specifications and applicable codes.

Produce complete mechanical/structural drawings for the fabrication of each project.

Confirm system capabilities by formal calculations.

Provide procurement team will complete BOM for each project.

Manage procurement of high-value components that require engineering oversight.

Provide procurement and production with QA requirements for each project to maintain compliance with internal company standards and customer requirements.

Maintain library of specifications, vendor-supplied equipment, CAD standards, calaculation sheet.

Some travel to attend sales -presentations and project meetings/installs (travel locations require US Citizenship). Time on site various from 1 week to 3 weeks depending on the situation.

The position will also require some knowledge of electrical and structural design. All design is performed using AutoCAD. In addition the employee will assist in the preparation of contract engineering documents, installation engineering and proposals. The employee should meet the above requirements and be very organized, very resourceful, self-motivated, hands-on, detail-oriented, possess excellent communication skills and enjoy working closely with others in an occasionally intense environment with a great team of people. Qualifications:

A PE is a plus but not required.

A BSME degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 1-5 years experience in the above fields.

Produce high quality work quickly and accurately

Software experience and solid knowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel, Acrobat and MathCAD.

AutoCAD Expert is very important as well as familiarity with ASME mechanical drafting standards.

Control and power logic design, conduit, wire sizing, trouble shooting, VFD drive programming, PLC programming

Machining design, evaluates mechanical/structural and electromechanical systems and products by designing and conducting research; applying principles of mechanics, materials selection

Develops mechanical and electromechanical products by studying customer requirements; researching manufacturing and assembly methods and materials; soliciting observations from production personnel, and end users.

Assist sales department by taking customer-specifications from concept to preliminary layout, for presentation to the customer.

Develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying existing equipment: fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components.
