Position Overview:
As a Construction Estimator, your primary responsibility is to provide accurate, comprehensive project estimates while nurturing strong relationships with clients, architects, and our team. You will rely on your organizational skills, communication, and commitment to manage complex bids and support the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Assemble and address subcontractor inquiries, preparing RFIs (Requests for Information)
Follow up with subcontractors to ensure timely submission of bids
Develop and maintain relationships with vendors to secure competitive pricing on materials and equipment
Order and distribute bid documents to subcontractors, ensuring accurate, up-to-date information
Maintain and update subcontractor lists, ensuring comprehensive and reliable sources
Communicate bid results to subcontractors, clients, architects, and construction managers
Set up and facilitate site meetings and job walks
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive project information
Demonstrate attention to detail, accuracy, and efficiency in all tasks
Adapt quickly to changing project priorities, timelines, and client needs
Conduct detailed takeoffs and manage estimates for multi-million-dollar projects
Education, Knowledge, and Skills:
We’re looking for an Estimator who is highly organized, efficient, and experienced in construction. Your ability to manage complex, multi-faceted bids with precision and clarity is crucial. You’ll need to be well-versed in construction methods, trades, and industry standards, and possess strong problem-solving skills to overcome challenges during the bidding process.
Required Skills:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
Experience with estimating techniques, software, and databases
Strong understanding of the bidding process
Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and drawings
Ability to visualize and understand construction techniques and sequencing
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Preferred Experience:
2+ years in construction estimating, management, or administration
Procore experience is a plus
Experience with high-budget projects and complex scopes of work
Field experience is a plus
Valid driver’s license with a clean record is a plus
Qualifications:
2 years of experience in estimating, management, or construction-related administration (preferred)
Authorized to work in the U.S. (required)
