Job Title: RHS Intern

Reports To: Head of School

FLSA Status:

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

-Greets children and parents / guardians in an enthusiastic manner each day

-Interacts with children through instructional methods to include play, music, arts and crafts, reading, writing, and physical activities

-Assists children as necessary to enhance learning skills and help complete assigned projects

-Assists Teachers in maintaining climate of classroom and implementing education curriculum

-Supports weekly (Wednesday) hikes on local trails.

-Monitors talents, special abilities, learning differences, learning needs of each individual child, documents issues / concerns as needed and notify Head of School

-Promotes and fosters each child's positive self-esteem and individual development toward their fullest potential in the areas of physical, social, emotional and cognitive growth

-Assists children with general hygiene practices including bathroom and cleanliness needs

-Assists in the planning and preparation of lesson plans

-Shares pertinent information, suggestions or ideas with co-workers on a regular basis

-Maintains a positive interpersonal relationship with all children, fellow staff and parents / guardians

-Performs general classroom cleaning duties to include vacuuming floor after meals, cleaning mats, chairs and wipe tables or spills as necessary

-Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

High school diploma, GED, active college student preferred

Certificates and Licenses:

Upkeep of all state Department of Social Services required certifications, as outlined by the Community Care Licensing division
