Onsite Coordinator - Classroom Manager for TUTORWORKS in West Contra Costa Unified School District (WCCUSD) $30/hr

Classes take place on school campuses after school dismissal (approximately 2:20 pm through 5:45 pm, Mondays through Fridays). Applicants MUST be available to work during these days/times. Spanish Bilingual Preferred.

This onsite coordinator and teaching position is an opportunity for you to bring in your personal inspiration to promote mastery for students that could be life changing.

This is a fun, part-time and seasonal position that allows employees to make a difference for school children in the community. The right candidate must be absolutely passionate about the goal to providing a positive experience for all students, while at the same time exceeding our clients’ demands.

Job Starting Date: January/February 2025. Interviews will occur virtually. Training will take place in January/February.

Compensation: $30 per hour. Staff must provide their own transportation to and from the school site.

Employment Type: Part-Time and Seasonal

Required Qualifications:

Two years’ experience working with elementary and/or middle school age students, including experience teaching, tutoring, or working in youth programs.

A high school diploma and a degree from (or enrollment in) an accredited two- or four-year college institution or currently attending college.

Proficient working online and navigating digital platforms including chat, text messaging and video conferencing.

Technology skills, including basic software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc., and familiarity with and ability to use Chromebooks and Apple devices.

Ability to assist students and families to troubleshoot and problem-solve common technology issues (with internet, computer, videoconferencing, etc.).

Proficient writing skills, including strong grammar and spelling.

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Ability to execute all job duties and expectations in a high-pressure environment.

Please note: All employees must obtain fingerprint and TB clearance.

The Federal Mandate requires students, employees, volunteers, and those accessing school campus to show proof of vaccination.

Desired Qualifications:

Prior experience managing elementary and middle school students

Prior tutoring experience in Math and English Language Arts.

Bilingual skills, written and spoken, Spanish is a plus.

Job Duties and Expectations:

Under the supervision of the Team Manager, the Onsite Coordinator will provide support and motivation to students who are connecting virtually to TUTORWORKS’ programs. The Onsite Coordinator oversees up to 24 students in a classroom and will assist students as needed, monitor participation, and work to keep students engaged and excited.

Daily job duties and expectations include:

Helping students to log on and complete the curriculum, and helping students resolve any technical or connectivity issues.

Using positive and motivational language; and modeling academic language, including standard diction, grammar and spelling.

Providing encouragement, motivation and reinforcement to students while monitoring student progress and holding students accountable for their online work.

Answering student questions related to the course content and explaining academic concepts to students.

Recording student data as instructed, including attendance and pre/post test data, progress reports, etc.

Identifying and reporting any academic needs of students as they may appear, including the need for an incentive plan, and following-up to make sure the needs are addressed.

Managing student documents as necessary such as attendance, progress reports, or student learning plans.

Communicating with parents as needed regarding student progress, absences, etc.

Responding to messages from TUTORWORKS team members.

Reporting to the Team Manager.

Other duties as assigned.

In addition, all TUTORWORKS employees are expected to:

Create and maintain a positive relationship with students and their families

Be a productive and positive member of the TUTORWORKS team, including prompt attendance at work meetings and prompt response to the TUTORWORKS administrative team communications during work hours

Conduct oneself professionally in all work settings, including all verbal and written communication with or on behalf of TUTORWORKS

Abide by all TUTORWORKS policies, practices and procedures as set forth by TUTORWORKS administrative team.
