Position SummaryServers at Diablo Country Club are the face of our dining experience, providing exceptional service and creating memorable moments for our members and guests. This role requires a passion for hospitality, excellent communication skills, and attention to detail. Servers work collaboratively with the front-of-house team to ensure a seamless and enjoyable dining experience, from welcoming members to delivering high-quality food and beverages.

Work Performed

Greet members and guests promptly upon seating, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Demonstrate extensive knowledge of the menu, offering recommendations and answering questions about ingredients, preparation methods, and specials.

Place orders accurately, communicating any special requests or dietary restrictions to the kitchen staff.

Serve meals with attention to detail, ensuring dishes are presented correctly and at the appropriate temperature.

Suggest and serve desserts, coffee, and after-dinner drinks, enhancing the overall dining experience.

Accurately process billings for tables, ensuring all items are charged to the correct member account.

Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dining room, bus station, and server areas.

Promptly address any member complaints or concerns, notifying the Dining Room Manager and Chef as necessary.

Ensure proper table setup, including linens, silverware, and glassware, in accordance with standard operating procedures.

Communicate with the Dining Room Manager regarding supply needs, such as menus, linens, and silverware.

Complete side work, cleaning tasks, and closing duties as assigned.

Attend pre-meal meetings and training sessions to stay informed and continually improve service skills.

Adhere to all wine and food service policies, procedures, and safety and sanitation guidelines.

Minimum Requirements for Position:

Minimum of two years of experience as a server in a high-end dining establishment.

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a genuine passion for providing outstanding service.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Knowledge of wine and food pairing principles.

Proficient in using POS systems.

Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Valid state liquor service and food handler's certificates.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

Capable of lifting and carrying trays weighing up to 35 pounds.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment that requires frequent bending, stooping, and reaching.

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with members, guests, and team members.
