Music Booking Agent/Talent Manager for Pianist (NO EXP REQUIRED!)

California, San francisco bay area 00000 San francisco bay area USA
Aplica ya

This opportunity is a bit different than traditional booking agent or talent manager roles because your pay will NOT be dependent on ticket sales.

Your sole focus will be to book performances for a talented jazz/blues pianist, and you will be paid $50 for each show you successfully book.

The reason ticket sales do not matter is because this pianist owns a business and does not rely on performance ticket sales to make a living.

For context, their music career took a backseat while starting up their business. Now that they're financially stable, they have the urge to perform again.

Your only requirement is for the shows you book to have engaged audiences. In other words, the performances you book should be ones where the pianist is the central focus of the audience.

Examples of shows that do NOT qualify include ones at weddings and at restaurants because those piano performances are secondary events.

-

Your very first task will be to research jazz clubs, venues, and festivals around the Bay Area, Vancouver, and Philadelphia. You will be paid $20/hour for your time spent researching.

Once we feel good about the list of potential venues you've created, you can begin reaching out! We will discuss outreach strategies together.

You'll be paid $50 for each show you successfully book. If you find this role to be enjoyable for the longer-term, we can expand your compensation to include a booking/management fee (20% of ticket sales).

For the particularly ambitious, additional future opportunities include managing the pianist's social media presence and directly helping grow his business (which is also music related).

-

This is a perfect role for someone scrappy who is considering getting into music management/business because you will actually be paid for your efforts in a reliable manner.

This may also be a good role for an early-career individual with a strong interest in music (especially jazz/blues) who isn't quite sure what they want to do with their life.

If desired, I will be here to help you discover your strengths, work towards your goals, and grow as professional.

If you're interested in this role, please respond to this posting with your availabilities for a 20 minute kick-off Zoom call.

Looking forward to working with you! :)

P.S. This role can be entirely remote but preference is for those living near Berkeley (it's always nice to have the occasional in-person check-in).
