Position: Full-time Tax Preparer
Ideal Candidate: a proactive professional with a friendly attitude and the ability to multitask to serve our tax clients – Individuals, Families and Busineses. The job involves understanding tax laws, gathering relevant financial information, and ensuring that tax returns are filed on time to minimize liabilities and maximize refunds.

Key Responsibilities:
Prepare Tax Returns:
o Prepare and file individual, business, and other types of tax returns based on financial information provided by clients.
o Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
Review Financial Documents:
o Collect and analyze financial records such as income statements, bank statements, and expense reports.
o Identify possible deductions, credits, or exemptions to minimize tax liabilities.
Provide Tax Advice:
o Advise clients on tax-related matters, such as tax planning, deductions, and potential financial decisions to optimize their tax situation.
Stay Updated on Tax Laws:
o Keep up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure accurate filing and compliance.
o Apply new tax laws effectively for clients.
Prepare Documentation and Forms:
o Complete required forms and documentation, including W-2s, 1099s, and other tax-related paperwork.
Assist with Audits:
o Help clients with IRS audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations when required.
Maintain Confidentiality:
o Ensure all client information is handled confidentially and securely.
Client Communication:
o Meet with clients to gather information, explain tax procedures, and ensure that all necessary documents are provided.
o Respond to client inquiries regarding the status of returns, deductions, or any concerns about their tax filings.
Skills and Qualifications:
Education: Associate's or bachelor’s degrees in accounting, finance, or related fields.
Certification:
Pass background check
Experience: 3+ years practical experience in tax preparation or accounting
Knowledge of Tax Software: Familiarity with ProSeries, QuickBooks, Microsoft Office, OfficeTools
Attention to Detail: Precision in processing tax returns and identifying discrepancies or errors.
Communication Skills: Ability to explain tax concepts to clients clearly and professionally.
Problem-solving skills: Ability to navigate complex tax issues and find solutions to minimize liabilities.
Compensation – Hourly, depends on experience, 60-day review period – if hired full-time then health & retirement benefit with matching. During tax season, weekend work is often necessary.
