Four Dimensions Landscape Cooperative announces an opening for a Full Charge Bookkeeper. We are seeking a qualified individual with well-developed skills and extensive experience working with a contracting business. We offer a competitive salary in a collaborative and respectful work environment.

Four Dimensions designs, builds, and maintains private gardens in the East Bay area. We are an award-winning firm with a strong reputation for high quality work. Established in the Bay Area for nearly 40 years, we are leaders in ecologically sustainable landscape architecture, construction, and horticultural maintenance.

Four Dimensions is at a pivotal moment in the company’s course. The founding owners, Michael Thilgen and Linda Juratovac, have retired, and the company has transitioned to a worker-owned cooperative. We are seeking an individual who feels strongly about optimizing employee engagement, performance, and morale. We want to encourage long tenures, strengthen workplace culture, and build community.

Duties and Responsibilities

Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable

Reconciling cash, bank accounts and revenues

Maintaining an accurate general ledger, making adjustments as needed

Creating journal entries for all accounts, including fixed assets

Monitoring the business cash flow and developing departmental budgets

Generating invoices and collecting payments

Preparing tax returns and monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements

Remitting biweekly payroll, income, sales and use taxes

Processing employees time-sheets and managing payroll

Administering employee benefits

Managing company’s insurance portfolio

Managing state and local licensing

Skills and Qualifications

Excellent computer skills and extensive experience with Microsoft Office Suite

Expert in QuickBooks

Good organizational skills with sharp focus and attention to detail

Great problem-solving skills and ability to think analytically

Strong communication skills

Ability to work independently, and comfortable collaborating with others

Experience working with a contracting company is preferred

Degree in accounting or equivalent experience is preferred

This is a part time position, approximately 25-30 hours per week. We offer paid holidays, sick time, and vacation pay.
