We have an outstanding opportunity for you! We are seeking a Payroll Assistant for a wonderful company in Santa Maria. This is a full-time and temp-to-hire position and the company offers outstanding benefits! This position is requiring someone who is Bilingual - Spanish. The position pays $15 to $16+ DOE, and some Saturdays will be required during busy periods.

The Payroll Assistant assists the payroll department in the efficient operation of processing payroll. Perform duties related to the payroll operations, including reconciling hours of work, processing time records, compiling payroll forms, timesheets, and payroll data. Computes employees' time worked, production, and bonuses and prepares payroll for check processing.

ESSENTIAL TASKS/JOB DUTIES:

Review and analyze payroll data and reports for accuracy and resolve discrepancies to ensure accurate payroll record for weekly payment. Obtain supervisory approval of time card discrepancies.

Process berry production from timesheets to finalizing for check processing.

Assist in process all field payroll for other entities including deductions to update payroll records as needed.

Assist in the timely payment for all employees on pay day or at termination.

Assist in the maintenance of all payroll software systems for all changes in personnel.

Verify attendance, hours worked, production, and post information onto designated records.

Record employee information, such as transfers, and resignations, to maintain and update payroll records.

Maintain filing system for payroll and related records electronically and manually.

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Perform related duties as to specific assignments.

Provide service to customers and/or employees by answering questions, providing information, and assuring appropriate follow-through and/or resolution.

Communicate with managers, supervisors, co-w0rkers, and employees while maintaining confidentiality and protects payroll operations.

Other duties may be assigned as needed.

MINOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

Assist in answering phones and greeting employees and/or customers/vendors.

Assist with any applicants inquiring about employment and complete employee related forms.

Lead in the maintenance of the check folder while assisting in the distribution of weekly checks.

Assist in entering and processing paperwork for new employees and entering employee information into the payroll systems and initial employee verification.

Able to lift to 25lbs.

Benefits:

Benefits include dental, vision and life. Cost per month is $30 for employee, $40 for employee plus spouse or child, $50 for employee plus family.

Health benefits are supplemented by a Health Savings Account - $1800 for single coverage or $3600 for family coverage (annual amount is pro-rated on a monthly basis.

Vacation pay - employees accrue 5 days of 40 hours of vacation during the first year of service, 10 days or 80 hours during second through fourth year, and 15 days or 120 hours for fifth year and years following.

Sick / personal pay - employees are allowed 5 days or 40 hours of paid time off each year.

Holiday pay - 6 holidays paid annually.

Annual bonus - discretionary to company management.

Eligible for employer's 401k profit-sharing plan after one year of service. Employer offers 100% match of employee deferrals, up to 4% of employee's gross earnings.
