Job Opening Legal Assistant
Location: 510 E. Chapel Street, Santa Maria, CA
Key Responsibilities include:
Conducting legal research
Drafting and preparing legal documents
Assisting with preparation of client correspondence
Case management and organization
Filing documents with courts
Administrative support such as scheduling meetings
Calendaring and document management
Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma
Experience: While we do not require a specific number of years, we are seeking candidates who have some experience in the legal field and are eager to learn and grow in the role. Expertise is not required, but a foundational understanding of broad legal concepts is preferred.
Skills/Competencies: Have a broad understanding of legal concepts, problem solving skills, interpersonal skills and communication skills. Skills in drafting legal documents, and filing within the counties of Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo.
Other Requirements: Must speak English and Spanish
Preferred Qualifications
Competency in filing documents on either Odyssey, USCIS, ECAS, ACMS.
Familiarity in Judicial Council Forms
Familiarity with the legal process of Immigration Proceedings
Work Schedule/Hours
We are looking for someone who can work full-time.
Hours: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with flexible hours
We offer standard office hours are 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, but we can accommodate flexible shifts depending on your availability.
Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required based on client needs or pro-ject deadlines.
Compensation:
Hourly Rate: Competitive and commensurate with experience. The rate will be dis-cussed and determined based on qualifications and during the interview process.
