OverviewCoastal CaliforniaHospital and Office Based Practice with CARF CertificationDignity Health Medical Group – Dominican ( dhmf.org/dominican ) is seeking a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) (Physiatry) physician in Santa Cruz, CA to join our mixed office-based and hospital-based practice consisting of 20 acute rehabilitation beds which is CARF certified, in addition to a bustling consult service. Our Group is a physician led, patient centered organization. We're affiliated with Dominican Hospital ( dominicanhospital.org ), aligned with one of the largest nonprofit health systems in the nation and the largest hospital system in California.Practice Highlights:

Only practice in Santa Cruz seeing General Rehabilitation patients

1:4 hospital call

Teaching opportunity to precept advanced practice providers and future residents

Requirements:

Proficient in seeing patients in the Acute Rehabilitation Unit and providing consulting services in hospital

Proficient in both inpatient & outpatient settings

Inpatient schedule: minimum one week per month

Available Resources:

Mentorship: from established and newer physicians in the group

Dedicated MA team for efficient workflow

Compensation/Benefits Include:

Shareholder opportunity

Excellent earning potential, including a salary guarantee period of $316,600/year and productivity bonus

This is a reasonable estimate that we in good faith believe we will pay for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less as permitted by law.ResponsibilitiesPatient Care:

Diagnose and treat various medical conditions.

Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans.

Conduct thorough medical examinations and histories.

Communication:

Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

Provide clear and concise medical information.

Foster a collaborative and patient-centered approach to healthcare.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.

Document medical findings, diagnoses, and treatment plans.

Ensure compliance with coding and billing regulations.

Diagnostic Procedures:

Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as lab work and imaging.

Perform procedures as needed

Collaborate with specialists for further diagnostic evaluation.

Team Collaboration:

Collaborate with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals.

Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case discussions.

Provide consultative services to other healthcare providers.

Quality Improvement:

Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives.

Review and analyze clinical outcomes for continuous improvement.

Implement changes to enhance patient care and safety.

Compliance:

Adhere to ethical and legal standards in medical practice.

Stay informed about healthcare regulations and compliance requirements.

Participate in quality audits to ensure adherence to standards.

Continuous Learning:

Stay abreast of medical advancements and best practices.

Participate in ongoing medical education and training.

Contribute to the development of clinical protocols and guidelines.

Qualifications

A valid and unrestricted California medical license

Board eligible or board certified in specified area of medical specialty (ABMS or AOA)

Completion of an accredited post-graduate training program
