We serve 99% of the Fortune 100, 90% of the Fortune 500, and are the market leader in Software-defined Storage, Data Protection, and Archiving.The Director, Global Pricing & Licensing is primarily responsible for directing and executing the end-to-end pricing & licensing strategy for Veritas, including price setting, licensing models, price promotions/packaging and discount guidance. You will play a key role in shaping the future direction and growth of Veritas pricing & licensing operations. You'll be an experienced pricing and licensing leader focused on strategy and execution.Responsibilities
Lead the global pricing and licensing function, working collaboratively to develop and implement Pricing strategies across Product, Finance and Go to Market teams
Interact with the senior leadership team to determine licensing strategy, priorities, and to provide regular visibility of progress
Coordinate teams to align priorities with revenue goals
Run pricing analyses to inform pricing strategy for new, renew and upsell/cross-sell offerings
Develop a Pricing and Licensing playbook, which articulates the pricing strategy and approach for the GTM teams and partners
Conduct and commission end-user pricing studies, including competitive market positioning and price elasticity analyses
Develop global pricing, as well as any localized or vertical pricing approaches, such as multi-currency
Support deal desk in carrying out deal profitability analyses and optimizing deal structures
Work cross-functionally to manage the licensing process, reducing complexity and ensuring customer satisfaction
Your Experience
Bachelor’s in business administration, Finance, Economics, or equivalent. MBA strongly preferred
12+ years of experience in designing and implementing pricing and licensing strategies for software companies
10+ years of people management experience
Keen understanding of software market/competitive/pricing dynamics and proven track record of strong analytic capabilities
History of presenting recommendations and getting buy-in from senior executives
Strong track record of closing licensing deals for significant value
Experience and understanding of patent and portfolio valuation
Experience in software licensing negotiations
Exceptional presentation skills, concise and fluent in communication
Ability to distill complexity via an analytic and structured approach
