Who we are and who we’re looking for: The Goleta Sanitary District is a group of individuals who care deeply about protecting public health and the environment. This position reports to the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor or Senior Maintenance Technician and is part of the District’s Operations team.
Duties: Applicant may be considered for either Tech I or Tech II position, depending on qualifications. Under general supervision, the Tech I (entry-level) position performs a set of semi-skilled in the installation, repair, and routine maintenance of wastewater treatment facilities and mechanical equipment. The Tech II (journeyman-level) position performs a wide variety of skilled tasks in the installation, repair, and maintenance of wastewater treatment plant mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment; and performs other duties as assigned. Plant Facilities Maintenance Technician II is responsible for handling the more complex maintenance and repair duties.
Requirements:
Tech I-High school diploma or GED and one year experience in the repair and maintenance of mechanical equipment such as pumps, motors, valves, and engines; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Tech II-High school diploma or GED and four years’ experience in the wastewater field in the repair and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment such as pumps, motors, valves, and engines; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
