Job Hours: Monday-Thursday 8am-3:30pm (30 minute unpaid lunch break), Fridays 8am-1:15pm (33.25 hours weekly)

Job Description: Serve as the main point person in the school office who greets guests upon arrival and tends to various student & visitor needs and inquiries. Must have good interpersonal skills and ability to work with a diverse community of staff, students and families. Under direction of the Director of Operations and the administrative team, perform work of moderate difficulty in organizing and coordinating all office support functions in an elementary school and in providing secretarial services to the administrative staff.
Essential Functions:
Foster community by serving as a friendly face of the SBCS office. Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy. Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
Greet students, parents, and & caregivers upon arrival and assist them as needed.
Answer telephones; greet the public and provide routine information and direct inquiries to the appropriate person or office; make phone calls to request, provide or verify information as directed.
Perform basic first aid on children with playground or classroom injuries. (CPR and First Aid certification required.)
Administer medication to children under the guidance of the school nurse and following site protocols.
Gather and report attendance on a daily basis. Phone parents/caregivers to verify absences.
Perform a variety of clerical support duties and maintain office protocols.
Type letters, memoranda, bulletins, reports, schedules, lists, requisitions or other materials from copy, or rough draft of verbal instructions on a computer; input a variety of data and records relating to function into a computer system.
Proofread documents.
Develop and maintain a variety of logs, records and confidential files related to the office.
Maintain supply and material inventory of office supplies, such as copy paper, ink, etc. Receive packages and handle the school mailing system.
Operate a variety of office and other equipment; maintain equipment in proper working condition.
May receive and count money and verify accuracy.
Duplicate and distribute a variety of records, reports and other materials.
Skills: Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy. Follow schedule and meet timelines. Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others. Maintain routine records related to work performed. Answer telephones and greet the public courteously. Operate a variety of office equipment including a computer, copy machine, and software. Accurately perform basic arithmetic computations and measurements. Follow SBCS policies, regulations, procedures and applicable laws. Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary. Type and enter data accurately. Understand and follow oral and written directions.
