Now Hiring: Client Resource Specialist and Facility Manager

Transition House | Santa Barbara, CA

Monday-Thursday 4:00-9:00pm

Are you bilingual, comfortable with technology, and passionate about helping people access the resources they need? Transition House is seeking a Client Resource Specialist and Facility Manager for our Family Support Center (FSC), an education program for low-income families, during evening hours. You’ll serve as the primary point person—ensuring smooth operations, supporting client needs, and helping individuals move closer to reaching their goal of economic stability. This modest program hosts one to two classes per evening and offers a drop-in computer-based Resource Center and free onsite childcare.

About Us:

Transition House is a family homeless shelter in Santa Barbara. We help families experiencing homelessness rebuild their lives. Our Family Support Center (FSC) provides free evening classes and workshops focused on housing and economic stability, as well as free onsite childcare for community members.

Key Responsibilities:

Act as the evening facility manager— overseeing FSC workshops and the computer Resource Center, while making sure that onsite instructors and childcare staff have what they need to deliver program offerings.

Welcome and assist clients and community members during drop-in hours

Help individuals complete online applications for housing, employment, benefits, childcare, and more

Provide moderate tech support in the computer Resource Center—printing, logging in, navigating online tools

Track attendance and document program usage

Keep the Resource Center and FSC organized, stocked, and functional

Communicate with daytime staff to ensure continuity of services

Oversee the safety of the facility and program participants

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

Ideal candidate must be mature, an effect communicator, and able to respond to the needs of multiple individuals.

Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)

Comfortable with technology, and can confidentially use email, google or other web-based research software, online forms, printers, and common tools

Familiar with local and online resources that assist people facing housing instability—such as credit checks, housing and benefit applications, health insurance enrollment, tax filing, school enrollment, and job search platforms

A self-starter who can work independently, build rapport, and provide steady, compassionate support

Organized and dependable, with clear communication and follow-through

Experience in the education sector a plus
