AHA! Lead Facilitator and Social Media Coordinator
Are you passionate about creating brave spaces for open dialogue, problem-solving, and positive connections? AHA! is seeking a dedicated Group Facilitator to join our team. As a Group Facilitator, you’ll play a crucial role in promoting mental wellness and social-emotional programming within our community.
Position Overview: This part-time role can be 20-25 hours a week. The position combines social media coordination and management, leadership, and facilitation of teen groups and coordination of some school sites with the AHA! Peace Builders program.
Key Responsibilities:
Social Media Coordinator:
Foster and grow community engagement with teens and adults via social media posts.
Increase awareness of school district programs via social media posts.
Maintain and create an annual Social Media calendar in collaboration with AHA!'s Directors.
Work closely with the enrollment and outreach departments to enhance our social media platforms and align with the PR plan.
Lead Facilitator Responsibilities::
Support AHA!’s Facilitators in planning, promoting, and implementing multiple groups for youth aged 12-19.
Act as a liaison between AHA!’s Administrative team and group facilitators.
Teen Group Leader/Facilitator
Participate in facilitation with teams delivering social-emotional learning and community-building curriculum to youth aged 12-19 in out-of-school, in-school, and summer programs.
Help Prepare: engaging play sessions and content for group activities.
Inclusive Environment: Foster a brave space and inclusive atmosphere where all group members feel valued.
Facilitate Discussions: Lead group discussions, encouraging active participation and diverse viewpoints.
Manage Dynamics: Utilize various techniques to handle group dynamics effectively.
Neutral Perspective: Ensure every voice is heard, maintaining a neutral stance.
Problem-Solving: Encourage collaborative problem-solving and decision-making.
Conflict Resolution: Tactfully address conflicts and disagreements among group members.
Documentation: Help document session activities and outcomes.
Feedback: Provide constructive feedback and recommendations to staff and admin.
Growth Mindset: Continuously be open to learn and apply the latest facilitation techniques taught by AHA! and other training offered within the organization.
Responsible: Be on time to all groups and meetings.
Additional Information:
Pay rate based on experience (range $23-26.50 HR)
Desired Start Date: August 5th 2024
20-25-hour flexible work week
Ongoing professional development is provided to all staff.
Paid time off is the last week of December and two days the week of Thanksgiving.
Flexible Schedule
Occasional weekend work required.

Driver’s License (Preferred): While not mandatory, having a driver’s license is encouraged. Group locations vary from Goleta to Carpinteria and could be multiple.
Required Experience:
Group facilitation
Social Media coordination experience is a must
Presentation skills
Administrative skills
Experience working with youth and families
Familiarity with digital platforms (Google Drive, Google Calendar, Google Sheets), Instagram, Facebook, Tiktok and willingness to learn additional platforms (e.g., Salesforce)
Interpretation skills (Spanish) highly preferred
BA/BS preferred or equivalent work experience required
This position can become a 35-hour-a-week full-time position on July 1st 2025 with a full benefits package, and 6 weeks of paid vacation per year (PRE-SET SCHEDULE: aligned with the school calendar) after a year of on-the-job experience.
