POSITION SUMMARY:
South Coast Montessori (SCM) is looking for an energetic and motivated individual to fill the role of Marketing & Communications Specialist. This is a part-time position (20-30 hours per week) with flexible hours and the potential to transition into full-time as the school grows. You are required to work on site at the school.
The Marketing & Communications Specialist (MCS) drives the marketing, social media and communications of the school, with a focus on advancing school admissions. The MCS leads community- building activities, outreach, and other events to strengthen family involvement and support of the school.
This position is ideal either as an additional job for an experienced marketing professional or as an opportunity for a recent graduate to gain valuable experience in the field.

Our beautiful 9 acre, park-like campus, is located in a quiet enclave of Goleta and features meticulously appointed indoor and outdoor classroom environments, where children are encouraged to move freely within the environment, following their own unique interests and curiosity. We serve children ages 3 months through 6th grade.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Planning, development, and implementation of the school’s marketing strategies.
Oversee creative content and graphic design ensuring brand alignment.
Manage the company’s social media profiles and calendar.
Support admissions with Open Houses, New Family Night, and other admissions events.
Maintain the school’s website.
Photograph around campus and during events as needed.
Assist with school staff team building, in service, and holiday event coordination.
Support our PTA in putting on fundraising and social events.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of Mailchimp or similar email marketing software.
Strong computer skills and proficiency with Google applications.
Experience with Canva, Photoshop or other creator software.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work with a wide range of individuals including students, faculty, staff, vendors, and community members.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and adhere to deadlines.
Ability to work independently with acute attention to detail.
Eye for simple, impactful design, and photography.
Strong collaboration skills, great attitude and work ethic.
Ability to take feedback with grace and a growth mindset.
