Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Laundress to provide expert fabric care and wardrobe management within a high-standard household. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of luxury fabrics, garment care, and organizational skills while working collaboratively within a team to maintain an exceptional level of cleanliness and order.
Key Responsibilities:
Expert Fabric Care & Stain Removal
Handle a wide variety of fabrics, including delicate and high-end materials such as cashmere, wool, and silk.
Demonstrate expertise in fabric care, ensuring proper washing, drying, ironing, and steaming techniques.
Assess garments for stains, damages, and maintenance needs, employing appropriate stain removal techniques while preserving fabric integrity.
Wardrobe & Closet Management
Maintain an organized and meticulously cared-for wardrobe, ensuring all garments, shoes, and accessories are properly stored and maintained.
Rotate seasonal wardrobes as needed, labeling and storing items appropriately.
Collaborate with the estate team to ensure seamless wardrobe logistics for household members.
Laundry & Garment Care
Wash, dry, and press clothing, linens, and other textiles with precision and attention to detail.
Separate and prepare dry-clean-only garments for pickup and return, keeping detailed records.
Fold and organize garments with care, ensuring a polished presentation.
Packing & Unpacking Assistance
Assist with packing and unpacking for travel, events, and special occasions.
Ensure all items are appropriately packed, protected, and organized for ease of access.
Household Organization & Maintenance
Keep closets, storage areas, and laundry spaces neat and functional.
Make beds daily, ensuring a crisp and well-presented appearance.
Rotate and change bed linens weekly, maintaining fresh and immaculate bedding.
Maintain a tidy environment by returning garments and personal items to their designated places.
Work closely with the housekeeper to uphold the household’s high standards of cleanliness and organization.
Qualifications & Skills:
Extensive knowledge of garment care, including luxury and specialty fabrics.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Experience handling high-end fashion brands and delicate materials.
Ability to work efficiently in a team environment.
Discretion, professionalism, and reliability.
Ability to lift 40lbs, to bring luggage up and down stairs and lift into vehicles.
