Over the past 47 years the IRC has resettled more than 75,000 clients in Northern California. Originally focused on reception and placement, the IRC now provides a range of services including economic empowerment, immigration, community gardening, and case management for victims of trafficking servicing a wide range of clients. Job Overview: The Development Manager plays a key role in IRC Northern California’s Development Team, overseeing the Volunteer & Donations Coordinators across four sites to ensure effective volunteer engagement and in-kind donation management. This role supports the Development Director in fundraising efforts, strategic partnerships, and external communications across the region. The Development Manager also supports the cultivation and stewardship of corporations, faith-based organizations, schools, community-based organizations (CBOs), and other institutional partners to enhance resource development. The IRC and IRC workers must adhere to the values and principles outlined in IRC Way - Standards for Professional Conduct. These are Integrity, Service, Equality and Accountability. Major Responsibilities: Fundraising & Donor Relations

Collaborate with the Development Director to develop and execute a fundraising plan to meet both cash and in-kind requirements.

Research private funding opportunities and serve as the focal person for the development of new proposals and donor cultivation

Build and maintain a small portfolio of Bay Area foundations and family foundations for unrestricted funds.

Build strategic corporate partnerships and leverage pro bono support to secure donations.

Engage corporations for volunteer programs, event sponsorships, and financial contributions.

Collaborate with development staff to prepare solicitations for special fundraising campaigns such as HOPE Program, Soft Landing Fund, New Roots, and other initiatives.

Be familiar with donor-centric language and communication to external partners.

Solicit corporations for event sponsorships, leveraging existing employee volunteer programs.

Support the Development Director with an annual year-end fundraising appeal, in coordination with Direct Marketing at HQ.

Volunteer & Community Engagement

Oversee Volunteer & Donation Coordinators across four sites to ensure cash and in-kind matching requirements are met and appropriately documented.

Represent IRC at volunteer and career fairs, fundraising events, and other community outreach opportunities.

Organize special events, including managing staff, vendors, event planners, and coordinating with other IRC offices as needed.

Convene town hall meetings and similar gatherings to update stakeholders, educate potential donors and volunteers, and expand community engagement.

GrowIRC NorCal’s Refugee Voiceinitiative to support former refugees in storytelling and advocacy for community leadership.

Ensure a strong, well-managed volunteer program that recruits high-quality volunteers to support IRC clients and programs.

Conduct outreach and networking activities to educate and recruit potential donors, volunteers, and community constituents.

Supports the Volunteer and Donations Coordinators in NorCal offices in strategic partnership building, in alignment with the Development Director.

Stewards regional community partnerships and oversees the Volunteer and Donations Coordinator community partnerships and strategic outreach plans.

Assist the Executive Director, Development Director, and Site Directors in raising awareness about IRC through community events, meetings, and forums.

Communications & Public Relations

Update IRC NorCal’s website in coordination with HQ, ensuring updated and engaging content.

Support the identification of client and programmatic stories to reflect local and regional programs and activities.

Manage all social media platforms, writing and editing content as needed with support from the Development Director and Social Media Interns.

Support the production of quarterly Impact Reports in collaboration with the Development Director and QA & Data Coordinator.

Represent IRC in community forums and stakeholder meetings as assigned.

Promote and actively participate in initiatives and efforts to build team engagement and cohesion in IRC San Jose office

Foster ongoing learning, honest dialogue and reflection to strengthen safeguarding and to promote IRC values and adherence to IRC policies

Development Operations & Data Management

Utilize Salesforce to manage donor data, process gifts, and generate acknowledgments.

Maintain accurate documentation of cash, volunteer time, and in-kind donations using Integra.

Develop and implement standardized outreach, tracking, and reporting systems for in-kind donations across all offices.

Oversee the NorCal Match Tracker to ensure match requirements are met across all four offices.

Gather and analyze volunteer service data to assess and enhance programming across IRC NorCal sites.

Collaborate with the Development Director to oversee and ensure the timely execution of Community Engagement Strategies for each office.

Position directly supervises: 4 Volunteer and Donations Coordinators

Other Internal and/or external contacts:

Internal: HQ Communication staff, Grants Managers, direct service Program Managers, Site Directors, Executive Director

External: Individual donors, corporations, faith-based organizations, schools, and community organizations offering volunteer, cash and in-kind support.

Job Requirements:

Undergraduate degree required. Preferably with an emphasis in communication, non-profit management, human resources, international development or and relevant field of study.

Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated success in fundraising, communications, and community engagement.

Excellent Microsoft Office skills and ability to learn new computer applications rapidly.

Deep understanding of program management and human resource management principles and experience managing various teams.

Demonstrated success working and communicating effectively in a global wide environment.

Flexible and able to handle pressure well.

Experience developing and providing orientations and trainings.

Strong organizational skills in a complex, multi-tasking environment and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Excellent interpersonal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically with current and prospective donors and volunteers, partner agencies, global wide clients and colleagues on all levels.

Compensation:Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
