Job Title: Software Development Engineer (Life Sciences)Job location: Sunnyvale, CA (Onsite)Job description:We are looking for an expert Software Development Engineer who has a strong background in healthcare interoperability solutions. This is an outstanding chance to join Capgemini, a leading global company in the digital and software engineering industry. As a Software Development Engineer, you will play a vital role in crafting and developing microservices for a healthcare interoperability gateway. Your focus will be on implementing data exchange protocols and standards such as HL7, FHIR, and SMART on FHIR, using Azure API Management to build a secure API layer. Through your work, you will ensure the utmost security and privacy of patient data in accordance with HIPAA and other relevant regulations.Key responsibilities:
Craft and develop microservices for a healthcare interoperability gateway
Implement data exchange protocols and standards using Azure API Management
Ensure the security and privacy of patient data in compliance with HIPAA
Work closely with complementary teams to conceptualize, build, and release innovative features
Use Azure DevOps for the creation of continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
Required Skills:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field plus 5 to 7 years of shown experience as a Software Development Engineer in Life Sciences
Strong understanding of HL7, FHIR, and other healthcare data standards
Hands on experience with PostgreSQL and in programming languages such as Java, Spring boot, ReactJS, JS, C#, Python, or similar
Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful API development
Hand on experience using OAuth, OAuth2, Azure Key vault
Deep understanding of Azure cloud services, especially Azure API Management, and Azure DevOps
Nice to have:
Extensive experience securing API’s and API management
Familiarity with security protocols, data encryption, and compliance frameworks (HIPAA, GDPR)
