- The client is looking for an entry-level vehicle technician, in a contractor capacity, to help us maintain and repair our fleet of Autonomous Vehicles.
- In this position, you will collaborate with Technicians and Engineers, who will help train and guide you in the process with the goal of maximizing the fleet utilization rate.

- Assisting technician team with troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, and integration issues on autonomous vehicles and their equipment.
- Following processes and documenting potential improvements and issues.
- Creating repair orders stating the diagnosis, procedure performed, and parts required.
- Working with technician and operations team to optimize scheduling process for vehicle repairs.
- Proactively communicating key field insights related to vehicle issues to headquarters and stay up to date on current policies and procedures.
- Keeping safety, the top priority always.
- Staying current on continuing education and training requirements.
- Assisting with fleetwide hardware and software updates.
- Performing general automotive repairs including component replacement using basic hand tools (e.g. screwdrivers, ratchets, electric impact tools to remove fasteners) Components could weigh up to 50 pounds.
- Performing ad hoc projects as needed.
- You have had hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, and software engineering components and an understanding of how they interact.
- You are a solid communicator - need to work well with AVTOs, Technicians, Engineers - You are a quick learner who is open to critical feedback.
- You have experience with sensors, calibration, and/or general automotive repair preferred.
- You have shown a strong aptitude to pick-up new technology
- You have a proven track record of emphasizing safety, quality of work, and technical aptitude.
- You are able to juggle numerous projects simultaneously, with ease
- You are comfortable in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.
- Licensed to drive a motor vehicle in the U.S. for the three years immediately preceding your application and currently hold an active, valid U.S. driver's license.
- No more than one point on driving record and excellent driving skills.
- A clean background check and drug screen.
- Ability to satisfy the legal requirements to become an AVTO (13 CCR Section 227.34).
- Ability to give and receive clear, prompt, understandable verbal and written communication.
- Ability to safely operate the vehicle in accordance with client's safety protocols and applicable law. This includes, but is not limited to, having a sufficient range of motion to turn a steering wheel, safely operating the accelerator and brake, checking blind spots and evaluating the environment, and maintaining appropriate air bag clearance.
- Ability to perform physical work including, but not limited to, bending, stooping, and various operational tasks.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Able to work as a W2 employee of New Journey AI (no corp to corp).
