Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Low Voltage Technician to join our team with advancement opportunities to become our LV Division Manager. The ideal candidate will have expertise in various low voltage systems and a strong technical background. Must have experience in the following Data, AV, Security, Access controls, Fiber, HVAC controls and Fire devices. Must be able to read and understand blueprints.
Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, and repair low voltage systems including security, fire alarm, CCTV, data cabling, voice, Hvac controls, Fiber optics, Audio/Visual, cat cables and access control systems
Interpret schematics and diagrams to effectively troubleshoot issues
Assist with system design and implementation
Conduct system testing to ensure proper functionality
Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide solutions
Utilize hand tools and computer hardware for system installations
Stay updated on industry standards such as NEC regulations
Qualifications:
Pulling, terminating, and testing Cat5, 5e, and Cat6 cables.
Building out closets and racks for efficient organization and functionality.
Installing cameras and configuring CCTV systems.
Working on patch panels, building racks, and troubleshooting racks and MDFs.
Designing and installing fiber optic systems, including loss budget analysis, cable installation (ISP/OSP), fusion splicing (single strand & ribbon), breakout, and termination.
Conducting testing and troubleshooting using OTDR and other relevant tools.
Working on HVAC controls, fire alarm systems, and other low voltage systems as required.
Requirements:
Previous experience in structured cabling, data cabling, voice and data systems.
Proficiency in pulling, terminating, and testing Cat5, 5e, and Cat6 cables.
Experience with closet build-outs, rack work, and camera installation.
Familiarity with patch panels, rack building, and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of fiber optic system design, installation, and maintenance.
Ability to work on HVAC controls, fire alarm systems, and CCTV.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Ability to read and interpret schematics accurately
Proficiency in system design and configuration
Strong understanding of low voltage wiring and components
Excellent troubleshooting skills using hand tools
Attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
Expected hours: 38 – 50 per week
