Multiple 5 hour shifts available from 10 AM to 6 PM Tues-Sunday.
We're a small niche Paleo dessert company (Paleo Treats) based out of Normal Heights. We sell in person and we ship all over the world. You should be fired up on health; you'll be doing a ton of educating as part of selling at the front desk.
When you're not serving customers there is plenty of organizing and office work to do.
Basic fitness: You should be able to lift a 20 lb box off the floor and press it over your head easily.
Bonus skills: If you're familiar with at least one avenue of social media (IG, YT, FB, TT, etc) and able to help create content for that avenue. This is a bonus, not a requirement.
Things you might hate about this job:
-you'll be on your own for hours at a time. If you need constant oversight, don't apply.
-independent attention to detail is critical. If your friends and family describe as "forgetful", or "sloppy" or you're commonly accused of "not paying attenion", don't apply.
-you'll be talking about health and disease with a lot of people. We have all kinds of customers with all kinds of beliefs about health. If those discussions ain't your game, don't apply.
-you'll be engaging with technology, from a standard point-of-sale system to excel files, occasionally printing shipping labels, and interacting with customers via the internet. If basic technology frustrates or mystifies you, don't apply.
-you'll be doing basic addition and subtraction on the fly. If adding up $5.50 + 8 + $5.50 in your head freaks you out, don't apply.
Things you might love about this job:
-after the first few shifts, you'll get more and more independence. If you like getting a list of tasks and knocking 'em out the best way you see fit, you'll dig this.
-you will talk to a bunch of people about alternative health options. If you like that, that's pretty much our customer base.
-you'll usually have a new challenge once a week. If you like new stuff, you'll dig this place.
-if you are creative and like to explore how to do things outside the box to make 'em better and more beautiful, you should consider applying.
If you can hold a conversation, troubleshoot on your own, and don't get phased by figuring out new things, you'll like this place.
