Job Description:
We are looking for someone with excellent conventional machining skills at our FAA Repair Station in Vista, CA. Must be able to repair parts to very close tolerances (0.0005") under minimal supervision with a keen attention to detail. Will be required to help maintain efficient shop to meet desirable turn-around time, (TAT). Responsibilities will include, but not limited to, operating and daily maintenance of Acra Mills, Cadillac Lathes and/or Sip jig bores, completing jobs in a timely fashion, cleaning parts adequately and completing any necessary paperwork.
Job Requirements:
Must be able to set up and operate standard manual machine tools such as Milling Machines (vertical and horizontal), engine lathes, surface grinders and manual machines.
Able to collaborate with a team to troubleshoot a repair while keeping a streamlined workflow in mind.
Self-starter, able to work efficiently with minimum supervision.
Verify dimensions and alignment using measuring equipment (i.e. calipers, micrometers, etc.) are accurate to work instructions and specifications
Comfortable asking questions when unsure of procedures and reporting discrepancies to management.
Verifies all calibrated tools being used are within date.
Complete all required documentation to quality standards.
Maintain an organized and well-kept work area with an awareness of foreign object debris (FOD).
Must be safety conscious and adhere to all safety guidelines and standards.
Capability to work within several Quality Systems, (i.e., FAA Regulations and Standards, EASA, AS9110, ISO90001, and C.A.S.E.).
Required Education and Experience:
3 years minimum machining experience required. More experience is a plus
Able to pass a pre-employment and random DOT/FAA required Drug Tests.
Need to be able to lift over 75 lbs.
