POSITION DESCRIPTION:
We’re looking for a talented designer/decorator who can lead the design, fabrication, installation and removal of Seasonal Holiday decorations at a resort property in the San Diego area. Design and fabrication will take place in the Long Beach, CA area and/or remotely with installation taking place over a two-week period in November with de-installation taking place after January 1, 2022.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee design and implementation of Seasonal Holiday décor at an active resort property
Produce thumbnail sketches, design drawings and elevations
Oversee fabrication and installation of props and decor
Understand and interpret color theory composition balance and texture
Examine, repair and/or replace current props and set décor as needed
Read and interpret sketches, drawings and designs
Schedule and oversee on-site installation team to meet all deadlines
Make effective use of budget and manpower resources
Develop and implement a plan for cleaning, dusting and maintenance of installations throughout the Holiday Season
Coordinate with other art and technical departments to insure maximum schedule efficiency
Other duties as directed
This is a high-pressure job with long hours and requires a dedicated professional who is willing to roll-up their sleeves and give 100% at all time. Flexibility in personal schedule is a must (including Holidays and Weekends)

QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to utilize hand tools, small power tools, hardware and fixtures required for fabrication and installation of décor
Ability to translate designs and elevations into physical reality
Knowledge of water based and other painting mediums, brushes and tools as well as general paint technique and finishes
Strong project management skills
Client focus with attention to detail, flexibility and accountability for results
Ability to build consensus and cultivate relationships
Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
Ability to multi-task and maintain a calm demeanor in a stressful environment
Strong leadership skills with an ability to motivate staff and support senior staff
Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
