Established medium-sized, downtown law firm seeks a candidate with experience and exceptional skills for a Transactional Legal Assistant, in-office position.
Primary duties for this position:
Maintain client/matter files, including on electronic database
Handle packaging and delivery of documents
Assist with client correspondence and transcription
Calendaring and case management
Preparing redlines
Keeping track of attorney time records and billing
Learning and utilizing document software, data entry and maintenance
Faxing, copying and filing
Maintain client confidence by keeping client/attorney information confidential
Document production and large products, including: formatting and proofreading legal and loan documents, performing legal research and timely filing legal documents with courts, including e-filing
Submitting requests for UCC-1 filing, business entity searches, information and record retrieval with various government entities
Qualifications for this position:
Transactional experience and the ability to support a highly sophisticated desk is required
Knowledge of electronic court filing systems, including: One Legal, PACER and online libraries, such as, LexisNexis, Westlaw and OnLaw
Software proficiency, including experience using Microsoft Office 365 with knowledge of Word styles, document management programs, such as, NetDocuments and billing programs, such as, Orion
Must type at least 60 WPM
High level of communication skills (oral and written)
Proactive and able to work independently and in a team
Must have a positive work attitude
Extremely detail-oriented; good follow through on projects
Relevant legal office work experience required and college degree preferred
Hours: 35 hours/week, 7-hour workdays, Monday – Friday, optional 2 remote workdays per week after 90 days of employment.
Our staff works a 7-hour workday with a 1-hour lunch. Full-time staff are also eligible for medical, dental, vision, SIMPLE IRA and FSA benefits.
