Position Available:

Full-time Associate Attorney. This is an amazing opportunity to help people going through difficult times and an unfamiliar legal process.

Ideal Candidate:

You have a college degree, a law degree, and you are an attorney licensed by and in good standing with the State Bar of California. Experience in family law preferred.

You are experienced and thrive in fast-paced environments. You are familiar with the demands of a handling a robust family law trial court caseload. You work quickly with a high degree of accuracy. You have work history as an attorney but are easily adaptable to and accepting of new ways of doing things that may different than to which you are accustomed.

You are a competent and effective litigator. You are comfortable and skilled litigating in court and taking depositions. You excel at and enjoy writing motions, declarations, trial briefs, etc. that are effective for your client.

You are an initiator. You see beyond an immediate list of tasks. You anticipate and remember. You seek out work when your workload runs low.

You are a problem solver. You are skilled at and enjoy spotting problems, identifying obstacles to their resolution, and creating strategies to resolve the obstacles.

You are detail-oriented and highly organized, but not rigid. You are focused and able to spin multiple plates at the same time without dropping any. You spot typos others missed. Your follow-up is impeccable. You can adjust easily to changes in the schedule or task list at any given time without getting annoyed or flustered.

You can competently manage a family law caseload. You can quickly recall the status of various cases in progress. You understand the process of a family law case from beginning to end, as well as anticipate and execute the next steps toward bringing the case to a resolution. You are keen to support a partner-level attorney’s caseload but open to taking on your own cases as well.

You work well with people, including team members and clients. You work well collaborating with multiple team members on a daily basis. You are willing to help out wherever needed. You are compassionate and patient in helping others during encountering difficult times. You communicate clearly, effectively, and promptly.

The Job Itself:

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables:

- Making court appearances and conducting depositions

- Managing cases in accordance with client objectives and advancing the case toward a timely resolution

- Correspondence (via telephone, email, etc.) with opposing counsel, clients, and the court

- Drafting declarations, motions, discovery, and judgments

- Conducting legal research and writing memoranda of points and authorities

- Maintenance of client relations

- Providing litigation support for partner attorney
