ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Packing & Shipping Specialist will assist with the day to day operations of the warehouse maintenance. He/She will collaborate closely with the warehouse manager in collecting statues and packing orders for freight and ground shipments.
We are currently looking for a motivated person wanting to learn and grow within the company. Someone who is a proactive self starter who would like to advance to possibly become managerof a secondary location.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Check system throughout the day for new incoming orders.- Locate corresponding statue(s) and ensure accuracy with the statue collected for each order.- Diagnosing proper packing required for each statue and packing each order with care.
- Fashion custom wooden crates for freight shipping, effectively determining how to brace each statue to guarantee safe arrival.
- Create/print shipping labels and other necessary documentation such as invoices and marketing materials
- Assist in the offloading, unpacking and sorting of shipping containers from Asia.
- Help in daily warehouse responsibilities such as organizing inventory, ordering supplies and keeping the warehouse clean.
WHO YOU ARE:- Ability to lift 80 pounds.
- Must have basic computer skills (i.e. creating shipping labels and documentation through UPS.com and Freight software)
- Must be comfortable using power tools and must be able to build a custom crate from wood.
- Detail oriented to ensure that the proper statue is shipped and organized with strong listening and verbal communication skills.
- A self starter who has initiative and is proactive. Is able to prioritize, multi-task and work well independently.
- Interest in or knowledge of Hinduism/Buddhism is a plus.
BENEFITS:
- $18/hr introductory cash payment, increasing with shown aptitude/skill.
- Part Time with Transition to Full-time position, Monday-Friday 8-4pm.
