Seafood Processor for Longline Catcher Processing vessel

California, San diego

Vacancy caducado!

Romanzof Fishing Co - F/V Baranof is currently hiring processors.

Immediate Openings - Flights to Alaska 7/10/24

Applicants should be aware that they are responsible for their own transportation to Seattle. While we do not cover airfare from your hometown to Seattle, we will facilitate your travel from Seattle's SeaTac Airport to the vessel in Alaska.

The job is demanding, requiring long, strenuous 16-hour shifts with minimal breaks. Initially, your body may experience discomfort as it adjusts to new physical demands, and you will need to work on a moving vessel.

We suggest viewing online videos about longlining and processing to prepare. Unlike other vessels that either fish or process, the Baranof does both, which extends our fishing duration.

When applying, please provide a comprehensive employment history of the last five years and clarify any employment gaps, including all work, whether paid or unpaid.

Candidates must be able to travel to Seattle at their own cost. To submit an application, please visit our website: [Baranof Courageous](https://baranofcourageous.com/).

About the M/V Baranof: The Baranof is a 183-foot former Coast Guard Buoy Tender from the 1940s, converted into a Longline Catcher Processor. The crew typically numbers between 19-24, including the officers, and varies with the fishery. The vessel targets Pacific Cod, Black Cod (Sablefish), and Crab, subject to fishery openings.

Position requirements:

- Comprehend and adhere to instructions, directions, safety protocols, and procedures in English.

- Independently board and disembark the vessel via gangplank or Jacob's ladder.

- Enter and exit a skiff unaided in all weather conditions.

- Navigate steep stairways and ladders in varying temperatures.

- Commit to working a minimum of 16 hours daily, seven days a week, for the contract's duration.

- Handle repetitive tasks for prolonged periods.

- Work extended hours under various weather conditions.
