We are looking to hire an experienced landscaper in the San Diego area. Ideal candidates will have the potential for Project Manager position with higher pay and must be willing to start learning the business as a licensed Driver Foreman.
About Us:
We are a small, family owned business and would like to find someone who can grow with our company long-term. JD Landscape contracts exclusively with property investment firms flipping residential properties. Staff usually work in crews of 1-3 depending on workload - opportunities for autonomy and advancement for the right person. We are looking for a self-starter who is coachable, values efficiency and attention to detail.
Requirements:
- Valid California Drivers License (must)
- English and Spanish (must)
- 3+ years experience
- Must be able to lift 50lbs
- Must have a smart phone to access employee schedule, report job status, and submit work hours
Schedule & Pay:
- Full time Tuesday - Friday 7am - 5:30pm
- $20-$25/ hour based on experience
- Monthly bonus ($200 - $600) based on performance
- Paid vacation, sick days, and holidays (excluding first 90 days from start date)

Qualifications:
Must be able to drive and SAFELY maneuver a truck and utility trailer to job sites, pick up materials, and drop off materials.
Fluent English and Spanish language skills required to effectively communicate with clients and the crew.
Be able to prioritize tasks and job details in regards to client needs and JD Landscape protocols
Ability to complete the job independently without a crew when necessary.
Irrigation experience required - jobs may include irrigation installation, irrigation controllers, and general sprinkler repair.
Knowledge and experience in the use of trimmers, edgers, lawnmowers, chainsaws, and garden hand tools.
Responsibilities:
Tree trimming, brush cleanup, bush trimming, and general maintenance of properties.
Work involves kneeling, bending, hauling, planting, shoveling, trenching, laying grass, laying pavers, installing DG, etc.
Lead and supervise crew, providing clear verbal directions.
Keep track of time to ensure that the crew stays within the allotted work hours for the day.
Prepare daily reports, write professional emails and texts to communicate with clients effectively.
Learn and proficiently use new scheduling software to effectively manage projects and track progress.
Utilize experience in job scheduling, planning, and project management to efficiently allocate resources and meet project deadlines.
Purchase necessary supplies and materials, ensuring the availability of resources for job execution.
As a driver, you will be expected to pick up the work truck which will be located centrally in San Diego. (Mission Valley/ Northpark Area)
Jobs are organized by crew chief, on-site guidance until employee understands work flow and company ethics.
