We are currently seeking experienced Journeymen with ceiling acoustics experience to join our team in the San Diego branch. Heartland values its employees and strives to be an employer of choice by offering competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package.ResponsibilitiesInstall wire, grid, and acoustical tile for suspended ceilings following company policy, industry standards, and manufacturer guidelines.Accurately measure height, width, length, and other proportions for installations.Perform material take-offs to ensure proper material selection and quantity.Work with blueprints or instructions from supervisors to perform proper layout for installations.Utilize appropriate tools to build or repair structural components using materials such as wood, metal, plastic, fiberglass, and drywall.Join materials with nails, screws, staples, or adhesives and ensure everything is level and secure using levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares, and lasers.Install all types of ceiling grid systems, including standard, slotted, and specialty products.Inspect drywall partitions, mechanical mountings, and masonry surfaces for plumb and level using a laser level.Hang or mechanically fasten support wires for acoustical ceiling grids from building structures.Train Apprentices and other Journeymen in installation techniques, safe work habits, and company policies.Maintain company equipment and tools, ensuring they are used as intended and perform preventive maintenance as required.Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.Work overtime, including nights and weekends, as required.Maintain records of tasks and material quantities and complete all necessary paperwork in a timely manner.QualificationsThree years of experience as an Apprentice in commercial suspended ceiling installation.Excellent understanding and practical experience in installing suspended ceilings.Knowledge and experience working with carpentry tools and building materials.Ability to train direct reports in the installation of suspended ceilings.Knowledge and understanding of construction safety devices and PPE.Ability to read, interpret, and explain plans to direct reports.Ability to communicate assignments in English to direct reports.High school diploma or equivalent.Preferred: Experience and knowledge of acoustical ceiling products.Preferred: Bilingual in English and Spanish.BenefitsCompetitive salariesMedical, dental, vision, and life insuranceAFLAC, FSA, and HSA optionsConcierge assistance for personal work/life balanceMetlaw legal assistancePaid time offCompany-paid long-term and short-term disabilityMatching 401(k) planVisit our website and check out the work we're proud of!
