Please read on!Position Summary:The Apprentice provides support to Journeymen, Foreman and Lead Foremen in the installation of materials on commercial construction sites. Emphasis is on a safe work environment and providing our customers with quality installations with the finest customer service, meeting or exceeding planned budget goals.This position requires a flexible person who enjoys the challenges of supporting a group of diverse people and programs. This person should have the desire and ability to work day shifts, nights and weekends, with occasional non-traditional work times which may include overtime. This position requires the desire to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment, work under pressure, be proactive, and express a high level of professionalism with emphasis on attention to detail.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Basic installer of wire, grid and acoustical tile for suspended ceilings following Company policy, industry standards and manufacturers installation guidelines.2. Provide customer service to our internal and external customers at all times.3. Observe and practice the Company’s safety procedures at all times.4. Observe and practice the Company’s policies and procedures at all times, including hours of operation.5. Demonstrate a high degree of attention to detail.6. Provide customer service to our internal and external customers at all times.7. Maintain a clean work area, clear of debris or other safety hazards at all times.8. Complete work as directed by the Journeymen, Lead and Superintendent. Contact these individuals with any Field Supervisor and/or General Superintendent on all discrepancies, questions, or concerns about the project.9. Maintain Company equipment and tools. Utilize equipment and tools only as they were intended to be used. Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and tools as required.10. Protect Company material, equipment, tools and supplies on job sites, transport and in storage.11. Ability to work overtime, including nights and weekends, and varying schedules.12. Attendance, punctuality and reliability is an essential responsibility.13. Maintain records of tasks and material quantities as may be required.Other Duties and Responsibilities: Various other duties as assigned by Journeyman, Foremen, Lead Foreman, Field Superintendent, Director of Operations, General Manager or President. Supervisory Duties: None.Working Environment & Physical Activities: This position will be working primarily indoors in unfinished buildings. Temperatures may vary from site to site. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but can be higher depending on equipment and machinery used on site. Peak workloads and compressed deadlines may result in high job stress.1. BODY POSITIONS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time, sit and walk. May be required to climb, crouch, squat, kneel, crawl and work overhead for long periods of time.2. BODY MOVEMENTS: The employee must have a full range of body movements including the full use of hands and fingers to grasp and lift, push, pull and carry various construction materials. The ability to bend the body, to reach for objects, and to crouch when needed are also required. This includes lifting objects overhead while maintaining balance.3. BODY SENSES: The employee must have command of all five senses: sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste. Specific vision abilities required include vision for color, peripheral, close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.4. STRENGTH: The employee must have the ability to lift 75 pounds with regularity. This includes the ability to carry material up multiple flights of steps.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job. Minimum Qualifications: 1. Ability to follow instructions.2. Strong attention to detail.3. Valid Driver License.4. Reliable transportation.5. Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.Preferred Qualifications: (but not required)1. Experience in commercial construction.2. Experience installing suspended ceilings. 3.
