The Olive Tree Marketplace, a high- volume delicatessen in Ocean Beach, is looking for a Deli Clerk/ Sandwich Maker. Individuals with a positive attitude who have a passion for food and people,and enjoy going to work in a team environment are encouraged to apply. Always a consistent daytime schedule 9:30am to 5:30pm. Please, only apply for this job if you are able to work weekends.
Responsibilities
A Deli Clerk’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Preparing deli sandwiches fresh to order accurately in a fast- paced environment.
Provide excellent customer service; greets and engages customers, providing helpful and friendly service and information needed to help customers make product-related decisions.
Ability to take phone orders.
Selecting and packaging salads and deli products ordered by customers.
Filling, maintaining and rotating products and displays.
Maintains a clean work area at all times; keeps merchandise fresh in compliance with all health code regulations.
Assisting in other duties, as assigned, including daily maintenance of the deli department.
Team player with a good attitude, who shows up to work on time, and is a respectful and responsible individual.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Food prep experience is a must. Deli department knowledge is a plus.
Basic knife skills and basic kitchen equipment.
Strong ability to work well with people, positive attitude
Spanish, bilingual, a plus
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast pace food service environment
18 years of age or older
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English and basic math skills
