Position overview:

At Holsem Coffee, we believe great coffee brings people together. We’re on a mission to serve exceptional coffee experiences while cultivating a team culture rooted in warmth, inclusion, and purpose. Our Assistant Managers are integral to delivering that mission. They help lead cafe operations, support the growth and development of our team, and ensure each guest interaction reflects our core values. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in fast-paced, people-centric environments and is passionate about community, quality, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead daily cafe operations to ensure smooth, efficient, and joyful shifts

Coach and develop team members through regular feedback, training, and mentorship

Support hiring, onboarding, and performance management of baristas and shift leads

Maintain high standards for product quality, customer experience, cleanliness, and brand consistency

Create staff schedules, manage inventory, and support administrative tasks including payroll and compliance

Collaborate with the Cafe Manager to achieve key performance goals in sales, guest satisfaction, and operations

Engage with guests to ensure personalized, memorable hospitality every time

Act as a quality steward, ensuring food and beverage preparation meets Holsem’s high standards

Champion a safe, respectful, and inclusive work environment

Qualifications:

1–2 years of supervisory or management experience in hospitality, food & beverage, or retail

Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring and motivating a team

Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities

Comfortable with scheduling, inventory, and general operational systems

Familiarity with coffee preparation standards and a desire to deepen product knowledge

Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Food Safety Certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire)

Proficient with tools like Google Sheets/Docs and comfortable learning new systems

Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed
