Job DescriptionBAE System s San Diego Ship Repair is hiring a Supply Chain Manager III to support the San Diego Ship Repair business. Ship Repair is a fast-paced, demanding, and rewarding career.As the leader of BAE s San Diego Shipyard Supply Chain Program Management Team, you will manage the evaluation, planning, and implementation of tactics to ensure that material planning, material purchasing, and subcontracting activities related to assigned company programs and operations are accomplished within all prerequisites of cost, schedule, quality, and technical performance.The department operations include supporting the on-time delivery of material and services to support program and operational needs. Customers include multiple US Government and Commercial customers adding a level of variety to the daily routine and demanding a breadth of experience across these markets to ensure the organization s success.Responsibilities:

Lead and manage a team of Supply Chain Program Managers, Supply Chain Planners, and Program Analysts at various experience levels in the execution of awarded project availabilities

Will be responsible and accountable for the planning and execution of the San Diego Ship Repair supply chain strategy for all material and services content

Key responsibilities include program planning (i.e. developing a procurement plan for subcontracts and material and aligning all centralized Supply Chain resources to meet that plan), supply chain metrics (i.e. on-time to place, on-time to need), supplier performance (such as line of balance, material status, supplier risk/opportunity management), and financial management (budget, sales forecasting of subcontract milestones and material)

The position will lead teams to ensure the placement and receipt of all material requirements to support each program plan

If anything deviates from plan, the position will be responsible to steer resources to address as appropriate

Acts as the main focal point for the Program Management Office (PMO) for the entire supply chain and coordinates cross-functionally to ensure that all supply chain commitments are met, and that appropriate mitigation plans are developed and executed to address any programmatic risks related to suppliers

Briefs the PMO and executive management on the status and issues affecting Program cost and schedule performance

Ensures that prior to program execution, all elements of the proposed program(s) plans have complete and accurate schedules, budgets, make/buy plans, and procurement and subcontracts strategies

Lead supply chain Program execution and is accountable for resource planning, material cost, forecasting, schedule performance, risk/opportunity management, supplier performance, and supply chain issue resolution

Proactively engage with business stakeholders to assist in the management of subcontractors through each of the acquisition lifecycle management stages to ensure they are executed appropriately

Responsible for the day-to-day coordination and performance of all subcontractors, actively walk the vessel to assess subcontractor performance, proactively address questions or identified risks, and facilitate development of resolution plans to meet productivity, quality, and schedule requirements

Develop and maintain professional and dependable relationships with both internal and external customers

Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers

Develop, implement, and maintain a supplier relationship and evaluation process to measure effective

Participate in the material and service subcontractor performance evaluation system (Partner2Win) that provides current information on supplier performance status and directs appropriate action to ensure that contract requirements are met

Coach, mentor, and develop staff and manage a high performing team that delivers continuous improvement, added value, and cost reductions

Provide leadership, coordination, and coaching to the team, ensuring the team is well trained; therefore, enabling them to achieve the operational and financial metrics within their areas of responsibility and succeed in their roles

Review performance of subordinate personnel and recommends appropriate actions such as salary increases, promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

Bachelor's Degree and 12 years of experience or equivalent experience of relevant supply chain, materials/program management, procurement, or purchasing experience

5 or more years of experience as a team lead or managing of people

Working knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems

Understanding of general procurement and purchasing lifecycles

Understanding of forecasting and planning with an emphasis on driving execution to need with an emphasis on working knowledge of Integrated Master Schedules

Knowledge and practical experience in shipbuilding and ship repair industry

Ability to create win-win solutions with a "make it happen" attitude

Ability to develop and implement organizational changes as required to meet an ever dynamic changing environment

Ability to motivate, manage, lead, train, and develop personnel

Solid critical and strategic thinking skills

Strong time management and organization skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Knowledge and practical experience in acquisition of materials and/or services in a DoD environment governed by FAR/DFAR regulations

Analytical thought to resolve issues in a variety of complex situations, without supervision

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

Master s Degree

CPM or APICS Certification

Experience in Change Management

Pay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $135556 - $230444Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures.
